Above all, we’d like to thank all those who enthusiastically embraced the arrival on the scene of HB, a new magazine on drawing. The success garnered from the first issue – so warmly received from Montreal to New York and throughout several regions of Quebec and Canada – bodes well for the continuation of the project.
We hereby present the second issue. Its pages tell a strange story that combines unbreakable codes, sheets sewn in black thread, uncertain surfaces and mystical creatures.
The drawings that you are about to discover speak to each other. They read in order and in disorder, subject to the whims of all those who visit this portable gallery. This is an open and malleable narrative that is yours to interpret, take ownership of, to adopt. In it you will find works by artists of different generations, some already established, others just starting their careers, and some who prefer to skirt the boundaries of the art world.
Drive into this world of graphite, ink and coloured pencil and take the time to get lost. Return to it often and you might be surprised at the encounters you make along the way.
