RESIDENCY_APRIL TO MID-MAY, 2019 /

Centre CLARK is pleased to announce the sixth research residency call for independent curators and researchers in New York. Made possible with the Conseil des arts de Montréal's financial support, this six-week residency is conducted in partnership with Art in General, located in Dumbo, Brooklyn (www.artingeneral.org).

Art in General is a New York City-based contemporary art organization dedicated to supporting artists and curators with research, production, and presentation of new work through its New Commissions, International Collaborations, Residency Programs, and Public Programs.

The institution’s renowned Residency Program was originally founded in 1994 and is focused on promoting critical artistic practices and research opportunities for curators. Residents are  ‘embedded’ inside the institution, perusing their own research in New York City, and working side-by-side with Art in General’s team, artists and wider community.

The Centre CLARK curatorial resident will receive a dedicated work space in Art in General’s office and join in a series of private and public programs to introduce residents to New York City’s community, including receptions, artist’s talks, and meetings with arts professionals. Additional organizational and curatorial support from Art in General’s team will be provided to ensure that the resident can accomplish their own research goals set for the program.

Each residence is accompanied by:
