Emma-Kate Guimond
Born in Edmonton and based in Montreal since 2005, Emma-Kate Guimond is a performance and video artist who has presented performances at VIVA! Art Action in Montreal (2019), Visualeyez Festival in Edmonton (2013), and Mountain Standard Time in Calgary (2014 and 2018). From 2009 to 2017, she was co-director of the collective WIVES, with whom she presented feeled at OFFTA (2016) and ACTION MOVIE at Théâtre Lachapelle (2017). From 2019 to 2021, she worked with Edon Descollines and the theater company Joe, Jack et John as a creative ally, culminating in Le Magasin Ferme, presented at Montréal Arts Interculturels (MAI). Other recent performances include Charégraphie at Festival Furies in Gaspésie (2021), Glass at AXENÉO7 in Gatineau (2021), Show&Show at Regart in Lévis (2022), and Strong Legs Folding at Agrégat in Longueil (2023). She holds a BFA in contemporary dance at Concordia University (2011) and an MA in Visual and Media Arts at Université du Québec à Montréal (2017).
