The mandate of CLARK’s exhibition programming is to support practices that favour installation-based approaches engaging in critical reflection on the exhibition space, its uses and its conditions of presentation. As an artist-run centre, CLARK places experimentation at the heart of its activities, championing projects that demonstrate boldness, risk-taking and innovation on formal, conceptual or procedural grounds. The Centre likewise pays particular attention to cultural diversity, intergenerational exchange, and equity in gender and career stage among the artists, curators and collectives it supports, presents and assists technically. CLARK thus positions itself as a space attuned to the most current and forward-looking practices.

The exhibition programming unfolds across the Centre’s two galleries over five six-week periods, from September to June. Submissions received through the annual call are reviewed and selected by the Centre’s programming committee, made up of its members and staff. CLARK presents ten exhibition projects per programming year.
