Jessie Myfanwy

Jessie Myfanwy uses textiles, technology and sound to create artwork that responds to her surroundings. Often experimenting with materiality, she works with fabric, fiber, trash/ debris, biomaterial, natural dye and soft circuitry. Myfanwy is currently an FQRSC-funded doctoral student at Concordia University (Montreal), where she is an active member of Access In The Making (AIM) Lab, the Textiles and Materiality Milieux Cluster, Speculative Life BioLab and the Feminist Media Studio. Her research focuses on intellectual disability and the transformative potential of access in arts and culture scenes. Recent presentations of research and artwork include 4th Space (Montreal), NeedleBound Vol. 1 (Montreal), 4S: Society for Social Studies of Science (Amsterdam, Netherlands), and the University of Rijeka (Croatia). Her radio show, Angel Academy, streams on n10.as monthly.
