Karen Trask
Karen Trask is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal Specializing in installation, sculpture, video and performance, her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, notably the Fondation PHI (Montreal), 67th International Short film Festival (Oberhausen, Germany), Arte Continua (Havana, Cuba), La Maison des arts de Laval, Oboro (Montreal) and Komagome Contemporary Art Space (Tokyo, Japan).
She has participated in artist residencies: Helsinki, Paris, Tokyo and was artist-in-residence for 2017 and 2018 at the Université de Moncton (New Brunswick) and Mount Allison University in Sackville (New Brunswick). Her paper sculptures have twice been awarded at the Biennale du dessin, de l’estampe et du papier de Alma. Her work is in public and private collections. Born in Fergus (Ontario), she grew up on a farm. She has a BFA from the University of Waterloo (Ontario) and a Masters Degree in Sculpture from Concordia University (Montreal). She is co-director of Produit Rien space (Montreal).
