Mai Bach Ngoc Nguyen

Mai Bach-Ngoc Nguyen is a multi(in)disciplinary Vietnamese artist who has broken with the "Thi" in her name.

Using installation, action art, documentation and ceramics, her projects revolve around accumulated poetic gestures and moving objects which, when placed in relation, test the limits of her own body in her colonial surroundings.

Her investigations aim to propose tonalities, a set of affects and intensities during the common situation. Self-critical of her own institutionalized ethos, she often decides to create spaces where her proposals reflect on what it means to be an artist in a given environment.

These new places carry with them forward-looking actions, focusing more on possible reverberations, power and, above all, chaos.
