As part of the exhibition Regarde dans les arbres pour démêler les nœuds des fées, which took place at l’Écart in spring 2022, curator Manon Tourigny set about writing a tale for all ages to complement the existing exhibition. Inspired by the dreamlike world of artist Fanny Mesnard, the story is set on the shores of Lake Osisko in Rouyn-Noranda. Historically anchored by the masked procession Requiem pour le Lac Osisko, which took place in 1985 as a demonstration against pollution, this tale is evocative of the past and hopeful for the future. Fanny Mesnard’s illustrations bring to life the imaginary characters and creatures that populate the story.
