Rencontre internationale d’art performance (RiAP), the incomparable international performance festival coordinated by Le Lieu, is coming to Montreal for the first time, in collaboration with Centre CLARK and Ateliers Belleville. Le Centre will be co-presenting three artists in Montreal, who are also part of the program at Le Lieu in Quebec City.

Since 1984, Le Lieu, center en art actuel has presented, on a biennial basis, the Rencontre internationale d’art performance (RiAP), a festival of artists, lecturers and theorists working in the field of performance art. Following a preliminary selection by the artistic direction, which is reviewed by the programming committee, artists from here and abroad are invited to take part in this event. RiAP serves as a privileged platform for the convergence of diverse performance art practices, aiming to reflect current trends that are both local and international in scope, practical and theoretical.
