Rose de la Riva

Through a performance-based practice, Rose de la Riva’s work unfolds through the production of video works, drawings, and installations. These are primarily developed through intuitive associations, improvised metaphors, and in situ explorations. As a performer, she conceptualizes her installations with a narrative and spatial sequence akin to performative actions. Her methodology exists in the interstice between material, object, and historicities, creating a dialogue in which formal and conceptual aspects take turns carrying the work forward.

In recent years, she has become interested in agricultural production techniques, soil regeneration, and the metaphorical links these processes maintain with our own existences. Her recent research examines the history of witchcraft by exploring its connections to rurality, folklore, demonology, and their iconographies.
