Sejin Song investigates the ways in which rumors circulating through media shape social perception and inscribe themselves into collective memory. Grounded in contemporary concerns, his research unfolds into narratives that reframe political realities, reimagine historical events, and even anticipate futures yet to materialize. These inquiries take form through time-based media, most notably video, installation, and performance. In recent years, his practice has turned toward the ethical dimensions of documentation and archival processes—examining, in particular, the relationship between the documenter and the documented, especially within contexts shaped by collective trauma. He is dedicated to cultivating daily rhythms that sustain his practice, while also seeking to nurture more generous and harmonious connections with others.
