Sigga Björg Sigurdardottir

Sigga Bjorg Sigurdardottir is an Icelandic artist presently living in Great Britain. Her work includes drawing, painting and text. The artist frequently creates work directly on the wall of the exhibition space and that is what she intends, in part, to do at CLARK, which implies her flesh and blood presence in Montreal. She will, therefore, work on site for ten days before the opening and prepare a wall fresco incorporating the architectural elements of the gallery. According to the artist, the result will put in place a situation at once beautiful and horrible, without resolution, without happy endings.

Sigga Björg Sigurdardottir, born in Iceland, and now based in the U.K. holds an MFA from the Glasgow School of Art. She has widely exhibited her work in solo and group shows including, most recently, the BOX Gallery in Akureyri, Iceland and The County Hall Gallery, London, UK.
