*Aux abois, quatorze poèmes d’amour*
There is always noise in the silence. Don’t run.
Come closer gently, come.
“Some time ago, I made my home in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. The river, its tides, and the scents of the countryside have shaped my view of the world. My latest artist’s book, a collection of poems, bears witness to this. There is something exhilarating about coming to terms with nature day after day. Yet nature cannot be tamed. It eludes us simply by being there—always strong and weak, and perhaps much like love. With *Aux abois, Fourteen Love Poems*, I let myself be completely swept up in the interplay of words and images.”
Since 1986, the relationship between words and images has been at the heart of Nathalie Caron’s work. *Aux abois, quatorze poèmes d’amour* is the third artist’s book she has published. The cover of this poetry collection is a black-and-white photograph, an original work previously unpublished, printed in a limited edition of one hundred copies. Each copy has been numbered and signed by the artist.
At the launch of this collection, Nathalie Caron will give a brief reading of her poems. Later in the evening, Claude Lamothe will present his “manigances” for solo cello.
