Alexey Lazarev is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtià/Mooniyang/Montréal. His practice explores how images, materials, and familiar forms change meaning as they move between contexts, generations, and ways of seeing. Working across printmaking, drawing, and sculpture, he experiments with processes such as rusting, cutting, and repetition to transform visual references into new forms. Often starting from a remembered image or a found object, he follows the unexpected directions that emerge through making, allowing material imperfections, chance, and intuition to become part of the work.
