Imprint is the first publication by Bois Magique, an artist-led collective practice and expo dedicated to craft, material, process, and resistance. Conceived as a response to an increasingly disembodied world, Imprint emerges from a need for tangibility, a return to the hand, to texture, to the traces of making. At a time when technology and visibility are increasingly shaped by the interests of very few, Imprint offers a gesture of resistance (algorithmic, social, political), a space we can still claim with integrity. Made in collaboration with local photographers, writers, graphic designers, and hand-pressed and bound by Atelier Écluse, the publication embodies a collective commitment to locality, collaboration, and care. Even as a printed object, Imprint/Empreinte gestures toward community, an attempt to build spaces that hold presence, reflection, and dialogue.
