About the book; To launch the first book of Bobbilibris Press, we naturally chose to begin with a journey into the world of exlibris. This project pays tribute to the rich heritage of bookplates, celebrating their artistry while embracing experimentation. Intricately designed bookplates, also known as ex-libris (“from the books of” in Latin), capture the essence of personal libraries. Exlibris began as small works of art, tiny declarations of ownership and identity. A miniature illustration placed inside the first page of a book whispered something about its owner and the life of the library it belonged to. These small bookplates carry centuries of history, traces of ownership, craftsmanship, and human devotion to books. This book catalogs an archive of exlibris discovered and collected over time, later altered and reimagined through experimentation, transforming historical artifacts into contemporary expressions of bookplate art.

About Bobbilibris ; Bobbilibris is an inspiration platform created to break away from the homogeneity of online references, by diving deeper into books and richer, time-honored sources, and a publishing house exploring the relationship between books, archives, creativity, and human connection. Through curated collections, artists’ libraries, and publishing initiatives, it uncovers the stories behind the books that influence designers, artists, and creative thinkers. At its core, Bobbilibris is driven by the belief that books can expand our perspective, nourish our imagination, and inspire action. Driven by a passion for books and a commitment to preserving and archiving literary works, we aim to tell stories that leave a lasting mark.
