In collaboration with Homesession and L’Écart, Centre CLARK is hosting Barcelona-based artist Xavier Michel for a two-month residency between the Montreal and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions.

Xavier Michel lives and works in Barcelona. Holding a master’s degree in engineering, he studied fine arts and scenography at Pavillon Bosio, then at Villa Arson in Nice. His performance practice explores narrative territories through the experimentation and manipulation of sculptural systems produced in the studio. Their activation generates micro-narratives in which the body acts as an interface revealing other modes of relating to the world. Oscillating between circus and choreographic writing, he establishes a poetic and sensitive language that questions our relationship to the spectacular.
