Agathe Weil

Agathe Weil is a PhD candidate in Social Anthropology and Ethnology at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, France. Questions of memory have been a recurring thread throughout her academic journey, spanning art history, museology, and anthropology. From the preservation and recognition of Esther Carp’s work as cultural heritage to the dynamics of power involved in managing LGBTQ+ archival collections in France, and the study of Moroccan Jewish identities, her work is rooted in a commitment to caring for marginalized memories. She is actively involved in activist spaces dedicated to critical reflection on archival practices, notably through the Queer Code collective and the Archigouine network (France). She is also interested in exploring artistic forms of research-based writing through sound practices.
