Émile Riopel

A by-product of the suburban trifecta of subdivision, car, and above-ground pool, Émile Riopel lives and works in the suburban landscape of Mascouche. It is from this environment that he draws his core convictions and primary lines of inquiry. In the summer of 2023, Fais-moi l’art presented his work in a solo exhibition. He has also participated in group exhibitions at centre d’artistes Rond-Point , La Chapelle des Cuthbert, Musée d’art de Joliette, The Galerie Stewart Hall, and as part of the 7th edition of artch art contemporain. Riopel holds a BFA in Visual and Media Arts from UQAM. During his studies, he received the McAbbie Foundation Excellence Award in Sculpture and the Jacques-de-Tonnancour Excellence Scholarship. He is a studio member at Ateliers Belleville and serves on the board of directors of centre d’artistes Rond-Point.
