Léa Boudreau

Léa Boudreau (born in 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal who works with electronic circuits and sound in a playful and experimental way. Her work questions inter-species relationships by considering non-human existences (non-human animal life, artificial life, the non-living, etc.) as grounds for reflection on the hierarchies that divide our world. She designs her pieces using a DIY (do it yourself) approach with the aim of sharing knowledge and critiquing consumer society. Among other venues, her work has been shown at the Baie St-Paul International Contemporary Art Symposium, the FIMAV (Victoriaville), the OTTOsonics festival in Ottensheim (Austria), the Akousma Festival (Montreal), and the Sonorities Festival (Belfast). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Digital Music from the University of Montreal and a master’s degree in Studio Arts (Intermedia) from Concordia University. She dedicated the winter and spring of 2025 to the creation of an artwork inspired by the rich and astonishing world of insects as part of a residency at the Montreal Insectarium.
