Raychel Carrión

Raychel Carrión is a Cuban visual artist, a graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana (Cuba) in 2011, and a former participant in the Arte de Conducta workshop led by Tania Bruguera (2006-2008). His work explores the construction of power and official historiography, examining how standardized ideologies and leader worship shape perception and limit individual freedoms. His practice investigates the politicization of affect as a tool of social control, proposing generosity as an expanded ethic rooted in empathy toward difference. He currently lives and works in Albarracín, in the province of Teruel (Spain).
