Rebecca Ramsey

Currently based in Montreal, Rebecca Ramsey has a BFA from Emily Carr University (Vancouver, British-Columbia) and an MFA from Concordia University (Montreal). Using ceramics, her work reflects on overlaps between the circulatory systems of bodies and architecture. During her studies, she was supported by Concordia’s fellowship program as well as the BC Arts Council. She has attended residencies at Guldagergaard (Skælskør, Denmark), Medalta (Medicine Hat, Albert) and CRETA (Rome, Italy) and is preparing for a residency at Est-Nord-Est (Saint-Jean-Port-Joli). Recent exhibitions include Projet Casa (Montreal), Artch (Montreal), the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery (Waterloo, Ontario), the Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery (Montreal) and DRAC (Drummondville). In 2023, her research on hygiene in Ancient Rome was supported by the William Blair Bruce Travel scholarship for European research.
