Performance

Who is this other whose consciousness has been separated from his body, whose blood and teeth we fear? Sarah Chouinard-Poirier presents a new performance inspired by the imaginary of the living dead, where popular culture and situated knowledge meet. They interrogate the fear of the other, drawing on their community and activist work with people who use drugs.

Through humor, research and embodiment, Chouinard-Poirier attempts to bring into friction the biopolitical theories of the undead and social hygiene justifying the regulation of substances and bodies. The artist invites us to observe the separation between the human and the less-than-human.

This performance is presented at DRAC Art actuel (175 rue Ringuet, Drummondville).

At 2:30pm, immediately after the performance, audiences are invited to join in a discussion with the artist.
