Nicolas Ranellucci

Born in 1983, Nicolas Ranellucci lives and works in Montreal (Tio’tià:ke). He holds a certificate and a bachelor’s degree in Visual and Media Arts from Université du Québec à Montréal and is currently completing a master’s degree in Visual Arts at Concordia University. In 2010, he received the McAbbie Foundation Excellence Award in Painting, and in 2012 he was a finalist in the RBC Canadian Painting Competition. He has also received several grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

Since 2014, he has exhibited in numerous artist-run centres and cultural institutions, and was represented by Galerie Dominique Bouffard until 2015. His work has been presented at AXENÉO7 (2014), Galerie McClure (2016), La Tohu (2017), Galerie d’art d’Outremont (2019), Caravansérail (2020), and Langage Plus (2021). In 2023, he acted as artist-curator for the group exhibition Comme un bruit de métal at Projet Casa and launched his first artist’s book, Les deux soleils, at Centre CLARK. Over the past three years, he has focused on completing his master’s degree at Concordia University, which will culminate in the exhibition Charivari at Centre CLARK in March 2026.
