The Clark Gallery will host artists Deborah Margo and Barbara Suhr as part of their second group exhibition. A series of 2-D and 3-D multimedia works will highlight the relationships between the space of the artworks and that of the gallery, while also revealing the aesthetic connections between the two artists. Since January 1991, Margo has frequently visited the gallery to compile documentation on the building’s architectural history. This documentation has taken the form of written notes, audio recordings, photographs, and drawings. Suhr’s approach involves using these notes to offer a creative interpretation of the gallery. During the four days set aside for installing their work, the two artists will combine their talents to bring the exhibition “Architecture for Two” to life. Deborah Margo recently exhibited at the Peel Metro Station in Montreal in an exhibition titled “Being and Neon—The Greedy Advertisement.” Barbara Suhr lives in Philadelphia and has exhibited frequently throughout the United States. This is her first exhibition in Canada.
