This series offers the perspective of the Animal Regime on science through the lens of a “mad scientist” who serves as a point of reference and comparison. In this body of work, situated at the intersection of art and science, I have used scientific data on animal vision, which I have transposed as faithfully as possible into images through photography, adapting various lenses, films, filters, and photographic effects as needed. In this instance, the artistic intervention occurs at the point where science and its system can no longer proceed. In short, the artist’s imagination begins where the scientific mandate ends; it becomes the ideal complement, through its sensitivity and creativity, to approach a certain metaphysical truth. It is also a critical commentary on scientific truth and photographic objectivity.
