PIERRE LAMARCHE studied in MONTREAL and SAN DIEGO, California. With *CONVENTIONS PERSONNELLES*, he presents a collection of works in a wide variety of formats and materials, ranging from found objects to traditional materials such as canvas. All the pieces on display take as their starting point a simple, carefully chosen object or image—such as a cracked mug with a broken handle, a small, roughly carved deer, or a drawing of a hundred faces created when he was 11 years old… PIERRE LAMARCHE describes himself as a sort of tinker, but

a tinker who has attended institutions. “When I work, I try to recapture that state children are in when they play for hours on end with ‘things’ that, to an adult, would seem utterly uninteresting”…
