A master’s student at Concordia University, he is presenting his recent works to us after a two-year hiatus. According to Bouthillette, some people refuse to face the bright light, averting their eyes from whatever disturbs their comfort. Others, however, commit themselves fully—even to the point of trance—in order to find the balance they seek. This trance is the very place where any work or artistic creation can come to life or lose it. It is also the threshold where any work can transition from being alive to being merely an object of contemplation.
