“The paintings in this exhibition stem from two distinct working methods. The first relates to my work in drawing and painting; it involves producing series based on the constant repetition of format and materials. Drawing sequentially led me to develop a personal visual language built around the reuse and transformation of images. The second method grew out of my search for imagery drawn from North American tattoo culture—the kind found in tattoo shops or specialized magazines. The paintings resulting from combining these two methods represent a fusion of my personal imagery and my immersion in the process and culture of tattooing. *Lookin’ Fer Skin* reflects both my sensibilities and my background, embracing contemporary tattooing while approaching the subject with humor.”
