I am a poet who, through my philosophical, biological, anthropological, physical, and historical observations, explores the myths of the unconscious to unravel the mysteries of the soul. I present the results of my research through an autobiographical work because transparency is essential to personalizing a work and making it socially relevant. To create in order to understand, to create in order to unify all the components of existence, to create in order to savor the ecstasy that comes from appreciating the beauty of life. And finally, to create in order to share one’s knowledge.

From confusion to wisdom—this is the journey illustrated by *The Middle Ages of the Soul*. The exhibition is divided into four sections representing the chronological order in which the works were created. *The Middle Ages of the Soul* comprises forty-three photographs mounted inside three books, accompanied by installations, as well as forty photographs mounted inside twenty books, crucified on wooden crosses.

Since 1987, Marc Tessier has co-directed, along with Stéphane Olivier, Alexandre Lafleur, Richard Suicide, and Siris, Publications Gogo Guy, a collective of creators specializing in art comics. As a filmmaker, screenwriter, and photographer, he has directed several short films. Chapter 1 of a researcher’s photographic autobiography won first prize in the 1990 portfolio contest held by the magazine Ciel Variable.
