Ordo Naturalis is a mix of original, live performances recorded either on stage or live in the studio. It combines the use of pieces performed on an EMS Synthi-A, mixed with collected samples, field recordings and musical composition. The idea expressed by this piece is for us, the narrative of matter and energy convening in space with heat and light and gradually combining into a solar system with life-generating planets. Towards the end of the last track, you begin to feel all the energies and life coalescing together into a rhythmic undulation ot burgeoning life.

This piece began as a meditation on how Nature has her own order. Man continually attempts to control and bend Nature to his needs and desires. But perhaps Man is unwittingly being used by Nature to bring about change in herself? We don’t claim to know for sure, but we have a sense that Nature will prevail in the end.

Spiritus Mundi is a mix of original, live performances recorded either on stage or live in the studio. It sources pieces that were recorded live during a 6-channel surround sound performance in 2009, mixed with field recordings and more of the deep textures only the Synthi-A can provide. The ideas expressed by this piece are narrative of Earth Spirit calling out to life, to humans, to the cosmos. We then encounter the suffering of Man, deluded as he is by his own compulsion towards profit and time mongering. Man is distracted by these stresses and out of touch with the Earth, the source of life. The great Earth Spirit still comes through with all encompassing depth which both cradles and feels
terrifying to Man. But when looked at in the grand scheme of things, we can begin to perceive our union with all of creation. We are children of the stars and the Earth, we all depend on the same environment to live and thrive. We are one.
