Gennaro De Pasquale et ses invités
POST-AUDIO ESTHETIC
05.11–06.17.2000

To bring its 10th-anniversary programming to a spectacular close, Clark presents *Post-Audio Esthetic*, a project initiated and coordinated by Gennaro De Pasquale. Just as in his practice, which stems from the visual arts, the artist has chosen to bring together other collaborators to create an environment whose language is built around hybrid and fragmented elements. Using the intersection of visual arts and electronic music as a framework, De Pasquale invited artists to explore a theme that connects sampling, channel-surfing, and appropriation. Christian Miron and Antonin Sorel were commissioned to design the installation’s scenography, and Jérôme Minière produced one of the project’s sound components. Halfway between a pseudo-record store (linked to Gennaro De Pasquale’s work) and a contemporary art gallery, this environment holds several surprises in store, where the blend of these two main disciplines will give rise to interplay in which trompe-l’oeil, “trompe-l’oreille,” and pretense are woven into image and sound. The project will also feature evenings of music and performances. A must-see final event of the season!
