To celebrate this rite of passage, Mathieu Beauséjour offers you an exhibition about the inescapable violence and ecstasy of the thankless years. Through the work of local and international artists, Teenage Kicks – Ca plane pour moi is out to manifest the energy – creative and destructive – of a world of thought in full flower, and often, in full self-contradiction. The works chosen, of diverse media, recall the brute and troubling vitality that can be one’s adolescence. From the gratuitous violence of a skinhead gang to the strident screaming of young Elvis fans, this festive, rock’n’roll exhibit opens the (graduation?) dance of 2006-2007’s special programming.
