The tandem exhibition presented by Galerie Clark alongside Gianni Plescia’s installation marks the launch of a new initiative. The Centre d’art et de diffusion Clark has decided to dedicate one of the sixteen exhibition slots in its annual program to a select group of its members. The exhibition featuring works by Arthur Munk and Yvon Proulx thus serves as the inaugural chapter of an event to be continued…
Arthur Munk
Having explored the concept of geometric deconstruction, Arthur Munk presents a body of work that scales back the spectacular in favor of a more meditative evolution.
All of this plays out through the interplay of order and disorder, the global and the local, permanence and change—pairs of attributes that, in various combinations, could give rise to an “incompatible reality.”
Yvon Proulx — Frieze
Sheets of material, various films, and offcuts are used to create mismatched patterns that form a single “phrase” of material. The silhouettes of these elements are arranged and linked continuously along the wall—horizontally—resembling a short frieze or a line of cursive script.
