The chimerical visions comprising the installation presented here are the result of an artistic collaboration marked by the simultaneous proliferation of the artists’ respective practices. A video loop shows—through a mirroring effect—figures in search of fiction, their identities called into question by a conversation riddled with shifts and permeated by reverie. This reverie is linked to objects of uncanny forms and to viewing devices that, through their substance or arrangement, evoke this flight—this evanescence of the visible and the tangible: vanishing into smoke, dissolving into white, falling into the void. The relationship between sculptural forms and moving images plays out like a conversation, with both the objects and the human figures in the video imagery acting as characters—interlocutors—within the fiction. Forms constantly reappear within and upon one another, evoking a sense of contagion while visualizing dazzle and overexposure. It is a universe fueled by a temporality with blurred boundaries; caught in a cycle of scrolling, circulation, and swirling motion, it perhaps begins where everyday life no longer suffices to meet the demands of storytelling. What emerges is a whimsical escape, an imaginary nomadism, and an unabashed flirtation with the realm of enchantment, cinematic references, and Surrealism. This chimerical quality mirrors Alice’s journey through the looking-glass: the reflection presented to us is none other than reality itself, confronting the illusion in which we find ourselves.
