After Arles, London, Tokyo and New York, le Centre d’art et de diffusion CLARK is thrilled to invite you to the launch of Guillaume Simoneau’s new monograph Murder (MACK, 2019). Produced in the spring of 2016 and 2017 in the seismic prefecture of Saga and the mountainous region of Kanazawa, Japan, Murder is the latest collection of images by Canadian photographer Guillaume Simoneau. This new series, published by esteemed London publisher MACK, is a response to his mother’s work as well as an homage-attack to the acclaimed Ravens series by Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase (1934-2012).

BIO

Canadian born, Montreal based Guillaume Simoneau began his independent studies in photography after completing a diploma in applied science. Today his practice is split between fine arts and editorial assignments. His body of work Love and War was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and Published by Dewi Lewis Publishing (UK, 2013). The publication was shortlisted for both First Book Award and European Publishers Award for Photography. His recent series Experimental Lake was published by MACK (UK, 2017) and exhibited at Stephen Bulger Gallery in Toronto. This summer, his new body of work Murder premiered as a major solo exhibition at Rencontres d’Arles organised by Momenta and was published by MACK. Simoneau is a 2018 Light Work AiR recipient.
