TRUCK STOP
Truck Stop
Discover this ephemeral passage of public art outstretched along the highway 20, between Quebec and Montreal. Visit the 15 original works created by visual artists and collectives in unusual places, from June 17th to August 9th 2017.
Truck Stop is the result of an exceptional collaboration between two art organisations and communities, the CLARK Center (Montreal) and l’OEil de Poisson (Quebec). This major art event aims to disseminate contemporary art in unusual places to have us appreciate and question our relationship with the area. What is more emblematic of this gathering of public art than the legendary highway 20, which links the metropolis and Capitale-Nationale of Quebec?
Some of the artworks present a critical look at built heritage sites along the highway, which compels us discover the infrastructure that has been either been neglected, destroyed, or doomed to be modernised. Others propose a poetic reappropriation of the land, of nature, and of reality, while some are interested in the aesthetic potential of certain places and spaces that have gone undetected.
Follow our updates as not to miss out on any of the works that will trace the highway 20 all summer long.
